Before you continue, understand that each of these sites is on a different provider, with a different TOS, and the material reflects that. In the case of Newsguy and Google, we're getting fairly close to "anything legal goes", and I do make some use of that opportunity for very free expression with joyous abandon. If you find this unacceptable, then continue no further. By disregarding this warning, you forfeit the right to whine to any of my providers about these links and be taken seriously, because you've been warned, meaning that your choice to continue was an informed one.

Blogs:
  1. The Green Tortoise and Other Travesties

My primary blog, in theory, located over at Blogger. I've begun this one with general ramblings about strangeness I've seen online, but this will mainly be a blog about life in the Chicago area.

  2. Monday Never Comes / Joseph Dunphy's Soapbox

What used to be my Yahoo 360 Profile blog, whose former name is explained in this post on my personal Googlegroup. It was originally a sort of a random grab bag of everything that didn't fit into any other blog of mine, and evolved into being the place where I talked about the news, when I felt the need to do that.

During the summer of 2007, for reasons I explained in this blog post I concluded that the rumors of the closing of Yahoo 360 were more than just rumors. I was right, which really wasn't surprising given the logic of the argument, but most of my fellow Yahoo 360 users took a "wait and see" attitude, waiting until the closing was announced by Yahoo itself before making any noise about it. This didn't work, which is no surprise because it almost never works. Those of us who had at least an ounce of sense found new places for our blogs on a variety of services, while the "wait and see" crowd piteously begged Yahoo to change its corporate mind in the comments section of the blog.

At the time of this writing (late December 2007), my Yahoo 360 blog technically still exists, with the only vaguely described universal Yahoo profile a few days in our future and only the vaguest assurances that our posts will be moved to some new service that even Yahoo itself admitted little knowledge of. Less than completely reassured by such plans, I've decided to keep the new version of my old 360 blog at Blogger, which looks vastly better than the original anyway. If Yahoo creates a new blogging service, I'll decide what, if anything, to do with it, but I can't picture myself using it as anything other than a page two resource.

A few more sites are on their way, including a Mathematics site at Livespaces, but please do remember that making these sites is not my job, so I can't offer you any promises as to when they will be ready. I can tell you, though, that I post update notices on my homelist. If none of these choices sounded appealing, you could always look over the feeds on my mashable profile and see if anything looks interesting.
